HCM City treasures ties with Cambodia’s Phnom Penh

HCM CITY – HCM City always treasures and will do its utmost to preserve and promote the friendship and comprehensive co-operation with Cambodian localities, including Phnom Penh, Secretary of the municipal Party Co妹妹ittee Nguyễn Thiện Nhân said.

The official made the remarks at his meeting with Phnom Penh’s Governor Khuong Sreng on Tuesday, noting that HCM City wishes to foster collaboration with Phnom Penh in tourism, industry and transport.

He congratulated the Cambodian people on their great achievements, and the Cambodian People’s Party on its victory at the fourth senate election in February  二0 一 八.

Nhân also praised initiatives raised by Phnom Penh leaders to send young leaders of districts of Phnom Penh to HCM City to exchange experience in management and urban development.

For his part, Sreng recalled Việt Nam’s great support for Cambodia during its struggle for national liberation.

He highlighted Cambodian leaders’ responsibility for educating young generations to promote the fruitful neighbourliness and time-honoured co-operation between Cambodia and Việt Nam, as well as between Phnom Penh and HCM City.

The Governor said the Cambodian delegation comprises young leaders of Phnom Penh’s districts, who understand Việt Nam’s support for Cambodia’s fight against the Pol Pot genocidal regime. — VNS
